Inter-professionalism, teamwork, and client-centered care.
The inaugural Lymphedema Education Day (LED) and Workshop Day (LWD) in Northern British Columbia was organized by a dedicated planning committee, attracting over 100 healthcare professionals. The event focused on improving lymphedema management, addressing underdiagnosis, and enhancing care accessibility in rural areas. Dr. David Keast highlighted treatment best practices and challenges, while patient perspectives underscored the personal impact of lymphedema. Workshops emphasized practical skills and resource sharing. The event fostered inter-professionalism and aims to establish a public continuum of care for lymphedema as a chronic condition deserving dedicated funding.
