The call for abstracts opened April 15, 2021 with a deadline (no exceptions) of September 1, 2021 (23:59 EDT).

Notification of selected abstracts will be no later than October 5.

The Canadian Lymphedema Framework (CLF) is calling for abstracts for presentation at the 2021 National Lymphedema Conference, being held on December 3-4, 2021 as a virtual event. Saturday (December 4) is a day for both health professionals and patients, with all presentations offered in either French or English with simultaneous translation.

The CLF provides a supportive conference environment for graduate students, lymphedema clinicians and researchers – encouraging both new and experienced presenters to submit an abstract that showcases the work being done in lymphedema research or clinical practice. Submissions are not limited to research based abstracts. If you have a special interest in a topic that is important or have a special case study, we encourage you to submit and share with your colleagues.

We also welcome abstracts in all stages of the research process including study protocols, feasibility and pilot studies, and clinical case series. Suggested topics related to lymphedema/chronic edema include:

  • Abstracts to be submitted in English or French, Word format (.docx file) in Arial font size 10, single-spacing.
  • All abstracts will be considered for poster presentations – with a few selected for oral. Oral presentations will be 8 minutes in length, with 2 minutes for discussion. There will also be dedicated poster sessions with awards announced during Saturday’s closing session.
  • All accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted, within the digital abstract booklet, so please ensure spelling and grammar is how you wish to have it printed.
  • Names (initials and family name) and affiliation addresses of all authors must be noted.
  • Please verify that your email address (submitter and presenting author) is correct, as it will be used for contacting you after the review process.
  • Successful abstract authors (both oral and poster) must be registered by August 1 and planning on attending the virtual conference, for the abstract to be accepted.
  • Limit abstract to 300 words – not including title and authors.
